For a cams licence just fill out this form and send it off with payment: FORM (http://www.cams.com.au/downloads/paperforms/2008_Level2_Application.pdf). L2S is the licence you would want.
However I am not entirely sure you need the L2S for all events at Eastern Creek. I am not sure whether I was asked for a licence when I went there with Circuit Club. Very nice track though.

thanx for that
i thought it would require some sort of training or track experience or something, almost looks to easy.
the only thing is,it says u have to be member of cams affiliated car club, any ideas as to what one of these clubs would be?
dont need extinguishers, roll cage any crap like that? i thought ive seen relatively stock cars on there before???

I am a member of the HSCCV however I would recommend you join the Japanese Sports Car Club (LINK (http://www.jscc.asn.au/)) if you are interested in getting your CAMS licence.
I had no special safety devices in my car when I went there, although requirements will vary depending on the organisation that is running the day.

Jason, check out the CAMS website and d/l the licencing document. Fill it in and fax it to them. It will take up to 2 weeks before they finish processing the licence.
BUT before you can apply for the CAMS licence you need to be part of a car club. Im currently with the Honda Car club (roughly 30bucks). Google the honda car club and sign up for membership
Once you have the CAMS licence, you can go there on practice days and Supersprints days
Pm me for further details
*Eastern Creek is actually an easy circuit to get a hold off... Watch my clips for some tips

Cheers fellas, good to hear its easier than i thought.
i thought it was gonna take a few months or more,so i wanted to start now.
Been watching the BYP vids benny, thats what got me thinking, unfortunately they all seem to cut off at the scary bit, turn 1,lol.
how quick do you reckon would turn 1 be in my 1800cc with street tyres?
do u have to brake at all or just back off?
It really depends what events you run in at Eastern Creek.
If you're participating in CAMS affiliated club activities, e.g. CAMS Supersprints etc, You will need an L2S license.
However, If you participate in some Driver training classes, Circuit club events, or some privately organised track events, you won't need a CAMS license.
Your best bet is to either look up Circuit club, or contact the ARDC (Australian Racing Drivers Club - They currently manage Eastern Creek) for information. IMO, Circuit club is probably agood bet because they also organise driver's training. However, it seems they no longer have EC on the Calender for this year.

At the end of the straight, jsut slightly brake and turn into turn1 nice and smooth, try to keep around 30% throttle and once you see the exit out of corner 100%...
In our car we stay in 5th gear vtec :)

As someone who'se been around EC many times in State level motorsport, here's my few words of advice:
You only need a L2S for Private Practice days and usually the ARDC gives L2S drivers their own time on track, usually about 20 minutes. However, you can end up on track with some very quick cars including race cars as the sessions are based on the driver's licence not the car he/she is driving.
CAMS events are speed events that require a CAMS National licence of one level or another eg. P plate newbie or seasoned campaigner.
Other events like track days you just need to pay the promoter (whoever is running the day) and you're away.
You only need long sleeve clothing, pants and some comfortable shoes (that give you pedal feedback). Trainers are not a good choice IMHO. This is for track days and L2S. A fire extinguisher is cheap and easily mounted so I'd try to get one fitted. Also make sure your tow hooks are easily accessed in case you need it.
You might also like to fit a harness (but leave your normal belts in). This only requires a hole drilled in the tunnel and an eyelet bolted through (with a steel plate under the car for strength. You can use the rest of your standard fittings for the other anchor points.
Take a couple of 20L drums of fuel if you plan being there all day, and a fast fill rattle tube (one way system), also maybe spare brake pads and if you've got some $$$ semi slicks on spare wheels.
