Hi Guys,

Basic question about EH civics,
Its to my knowledge that EH Civics have the D16A engine in them right? so...
1) Do these EH's have the same Chassis as EG's?
2) Do B series motors bolt right in?

Cheers

thx trism but either im thick or the answer isnt there :p

did the EG/EH come with the D16A (Not D16Y)? as in the DOHC non-vtec ZC look-a-like.
reason i ask is: thinking of restoring my old DA3 teg. I did some reading around and stumbled across the fact that EH/EG's also had the D16A motor.

Since the normally there is a D16Y or B in the EG chassis, would this D16A have the engine mounts to bolt in a b series into a DA3 chassis....

you need the mounts out of a DA9.

Your referring to the D16A8/9's which are a DOHC non VTEC engine.

The D series engine mounts are different to the B series mounts, so you need aftermarket B series mounts like hasport or innovative etc.

Ben, with the DA9 mounts, would that allow me to bolt in a B motor into the DA3 chassis?

Jarks, u are absolutely right. but again i read that there are EG's with this D16A8 motor in it.

Not sure on the mount situation... but yeah some model EG's also have the D16A9's.

yeah.
i hope the brackets match up to the chassis as well....
since Ben mentioned the DA9... thats a good point, its a DA chassis with a B series...
but still unsure cos the DA3 and DA9 (teg LS) are quite different.

can u please confirm ben that the all teg LS mounts will work? or just DA9 ones?

not 100% guys....

the actual rubber enclosed mounts off a D series are almost exactly the same as B series. Rear engine mount and front lower torque mounts are interchangeable EG = DC (d to B series) The actual engine mounts are the same in some layouts (gearbox mount is the same in some D vs b) but the passenger side mount can differ too.
I cannot confirm sorry. But i would guess yes they are compatible

yes the EH9 model code is the civic Si sedan and it runs the D16A8 which is the 1.6L DOHC non VTEC

yes B series bolt straights just need integra rear engine bracket

EG Si : DOHC twin cam non vtec
EG VTi: SOHC single cam VTEC
EH Si: DOHC twin cam non vtec
EH VTi: SOHC single cam VTEC.

Both EG and EH are sually the same around the engine bay. Like said before, you can do a straight bolt in with B series.
