last week i replaced the 040 tyres by good year goodride 195/50/15.

it provides better handling and acceleration
but more noisy and the pertol consumption increased from 6.8-7 l/100km to 7.5-7.6 l/km.

is it due to size different or the materials are different:confused:

anyway it is only $98 per corner, pretty happy:thumbsup:

The stock tyres on the VTi-S are 185 wide. Moving to a wider 195 tyre will increase fuel consumption figures as there is more rolling resistance.

I went to the same dimension tyres as yourself, 195/50/15, however in the Dunlop SP9000 rubber. Going from the 185/55 stock tyre to this dunlop tyre did sharpen up the steering a little and provides more grip, however my fuel consumption went from averaging 6.4/100KM to around 6.7/100KM.

I got a quote for the OEM Bridgestone tyre and it was ridiculously high. They wanted approx $180-190 per tyre as it's not a common tyre dimension. The tyre shop recommended I go to the 195/50/15 dimension as it was much cheaper, $110 per tyre and my speedo accuracy would not be affected.

Hope that helps!
