Internet Relay Chat, i googled it lol

Like messenger chat with multiple users at once with option of private conversation I think.

It'd turn into spam 24/7

IRC will be much spam lol, unless you start kicking everyone. What about a Ventrilo/Teamspeak server lol

IMO it could work but then again Spam Thread+Pm+Msn=Chatrar

Re-opened just to point out that there used to be an IRC channel.....anyone remember the details......it was Dan aka Dxs that organised it from memory.

what about those instand chat things on the side of the website?

like a shout out thingy or even a instand chat thread just like msn/irc just on the website.

its a great idea but hard to actually code it

wouldn't a IM/chat client/IRC be better then having a spam thread as you wouldn't need to keep deleting it every few weeks and starting a fresh one??

i dont think its up anymore, but creating an #ozhonda room is as easy as typing "/join ozhonda" on any of the other available servers.

it may be a good way to see who is up to the job of being a mod on OH by trying them out as mods for an IRC ozhonda chatroom...

lloyd's practically lives in the spam thread...might aswell be him :D

The time it takes to implement and moderate is simply not worth a few members wanting a better "kick" out of spending time on these boards.
Ozhonda after all is a forum, its not a social networking website as such...
If members meet someone that they wanna chat more with, simply take it to spam or ur on MSN convos.

Also, i believe adding a chat like this will affect the security of this forum.
It will allow another possible way for any further hackers etc to gain access to the board.

Not gonna happen.

i guess just make an irc channel? if thats allowed.. and whoeva makes it can be ops and yeah go from there and moderate the channel?

Feel free to setup your own chat channel however there will be nothing hosted on the same server as OH unfortunately.
