JDM EK9 Exhaust Upgrade

Hi there,


just wanted to know if a JDM EK9 Cat Back is a good upgrade for a Civic VTI-R. Is there much difference in performance between a GOOD QUALITY locally made exhaust over a JDM exhaust.

I know that there is not huge power to be gained just from a exhaust by itself, but just what to be sure what i put on my car is quality. And the exhaust i end up with must be relativly quiet, dont like loud and droney exhaust notes.

anyone with any experience and knowledge with JDM EK9 Cat backs or know of a good quality locally made exhaust please let me know.

its is 2.25" stainless b pipe and and muffer
oem headers are also bigger with the bigger 2.5 " cat
so it would be better than a ek4 for sure

definitely a good upgrade. you're going from crush bent mild steel to mandrel bent stainless. As Lan mentioned, get the cat and header too if you want true bolt on action.

I thought the B16B got it's extra 20KW by reving higher.
B16a's don't have an abundance of torque as it is.
Bigger pipes isn't gonna help in the rpm ranges seen anywhere but a track.

I'd have thought the cash would be better spent on tyres or a cheap LSD, but that's too far off topic.

lol @ 'jdm ek9'.... i didn't know there was any other type

but yeh it is a decent upgrade when combined as I/H/E, however i doubt you will feel much of a difference just by itself
