Hi guys,

Just wanna get some info about suspension set up. since most of you track your car, and in the process of learning :p

So far what can i get in my head or what i know is good.

1. Full coil over (not China of course)
2. Front & Rear Strut brace
3. Front & Rear tie brace (under)
4. Front & Rear Sway bar (thicker)

and of course not the less a set of good grippy tire!!

i know there is a lot more in to it
like pillow mounts
adjustable arms..
etc

but i just wanted to know is those 4 items stated at the top is okay? for beginners.. not going to be fully Racer on the track..

thank you

1. Full coil over (not China of course)
Coil Overs are good for track, but a good spring and shock combo can be just as good, but not adjustable

2. Front & Rear Strut brace
increase rigidity and ride quality

3. Front & Rear tie brace (under)
as above

4. Front & Rear Sway bar (thicker)
Reduce body roll, increase turning response

Yeah let us know what car your planning to do this on....

If its an old car....most people neglect the fact that on tracks, the cars braking system is under alot of stress....soo you would wanna get yourself a nice set of pads, and if the brake fluid wasn't changed recently then you should bleed the system too.Reason for this is old brake fliud and not soo well branded fluids, will boil when you use the brakes so much on the track, especially for automatic cars, which dont have the benefits of engine braking compared to manual!

No point having awesome suspension, if you can't brake into the corner at the right time,

Hmmm the Jazz is an area I'm not familiar with all the ins and outs, but the chassis is a good base to start from though.

Maybe try the jazz forum or add "Jazz" to your title.

my opinion would be to do it one at a time.

for example struts first, see how they change the car's characteristics.
although not a great difference on the street, you'll still notice the slight
changes. then do your sway bars or your coils or your tie bars.
that's really a good way to 'LEARN' about your car.
also grippy tyres, learn the tyres as well. the differences when you change
tyre pressure etc.
so much fun can be had with a jazz on such a setup.

tried front strut .... really make some different...
i think coilover is a really good choice too, i don't have one, but i tried my friend's jazz which has coilover... the handling is awesome

those four are good enough for normal use... u can add like roll age etc2... for more like track use...

Jazz chassis's like the FD Civic is beautiful. Such a great base! So ridgid. Love them.

IMHO, if it's just for the street, and a bit of track work. I'd be starting with Coilovers. I honestly think just a set of nice coilovers would work a treat. Slowly add camber arms, sway bars etc as time progresses, as you feel like you need to improve on something. I don't think you need to strenghen the chassis anymore for the time being.

If no one's told you this already, take the car as is, into a track day.
Have as much fun as you can but make sure you record the times and aim to be consistent.

From there you will have a guage and an idea what needs to be done.

agree to vtecmachine... if i were to have another chance, i would put on coilover first. the handling is awesome.
