quick run down of the mods for now

i have kept my black AVO cooler and pipes which fit and match this setup up perfect.
still using my RC 650cc injectors & walbro pump.
and still have hondata s300.

new parts, the obvious
gt3037s 0.82 rear housing.
tial 44mm external gate.
full race AC compatible manifold.
new oil lines.
custom dump pipe.

saturday, i will be arange my oil feed line and oil return line.

then next week will have dump pipe done with performance shop (creatd motosports).

and coz it still has previous boosted tune with 5000rpm rev limiter, i will be cruzing it around, untill tuner is ready to tune..............

Wow that is a NICE manifold. Pipes look big enough to suck up any stray little kids that get trapped under you car so keep them away.
............lol................hopefully those kids will stay on the side walk

unfortunatly...........................nt much of an update today..................spent most of the monrning running around gettion oil lines and fittings, all places i went to, didnt have the right size braided line for my oil feed..................so i got stuck with mounting my powersteering bracket and cleaning parts..............lol

hopefully tuesday night will be a better outcome.................

Update guys………..………….i got most of it bolted up properly on Tuesday night.
So far, manifold and turbo is together, and bolted to the car with gaskets and all good, the waste gate is on the manifold, but not secured yet.
Oil feed and water lines all bolted up and secured.

I have got my thermo fans at home, 1 is mounted to the radiator already, will mount the other tonight to the condenser. Hopefully I will be able to mount radiator and secure.

I hope to finish off oil return line today and tighten up cooler pipes and fittings.
Also hope to run all boost / vacuum lines from waste gate to intake manifold and have that secured, most likely will also install and run hoses for catch can as well.

all the oil lines and water lines are done and fitted, catchcan is also fitted and hoses plumbed in, thermos and wiring in and done, heat wrapping all done on air con pipes and cooler pipes...................

i got it done at Creatd motorsports in campbellfield.

they have taken there time........but i told them i wasnt in a hurry or rush, and i also told them to make sure its 150% right the first time......plus they been busy tuning cars for last weeks winton drift event and the week before calder event so i wasnt fust at all..........otherwise 3 days work all up.........

got the car back last night from the exhaust shop.........excellent work and well priced, i recommend them to anyone with a custom system especially how tight it wa sin there with aircon pump and the likes...............it aint that loud with no mufflers, cats or resonators either.......

no no no.........the blue hose that comes off the oil drain on the turbo side, has been (dont flame me) drilled and tapped into the block..............

and i am using a t-bolt clamp to make sure it no leak on the fitting.........

thats what y it looks funny........lol

i meant its a different way and heaps of people (mates) have bagged thwe shit out of me for drill and tapping the block..........but hey, it works for me so whateva..............


i only have 1 oil leak..............the oil drain off the turbo is leajking from the flange and i got a gasket too..........it seems as thow the bolts dont have spring washers and may have vibrated a touch loose on the drive home.......

time to get my hands dirty tonight and fix up........get some spring washers and get an intake made and of for tuning

jase..............like u said, better safe than sorri man.......i was cruzing around yesterday and it was a fairly hot melbourne day and the bonnet was almost on fire on the outside........i couldnt even touch it with my hand........

so i let it cool down heaps and got the heat wrap/adheasive protector onto it and then drove around all arvo and beleive it or not i was then able to lean on the bonnet as if it was a warm blanket......lol

so it maybe be a cheap and nasty looking fix, but it works.............

just be carefull with heat wrapping the manifold, it can cause cracking........

i wanted to heat wrap, but i wasnt sure and didnt really wanna crack my full race manifold..........i also thought of getting the manifold hpc coated, but i love the colour and the way it looks............

yeah i've read into it alot but theres lots of examples of people with wrapped manifolds that have had no troubles at all. I think the people that buy the cheaper wrap and don't install it properly get dramas. But we'll see how it goes.

i think the main concern with heat wrapping, is the thickness of the metal of the manifold which causes the cracking.........anyways.....see how u go....

i hope to tune it this saturday...............the only things left to do, is service (plugs, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, and fit fuel pressure guage.........

and its all good..........

got some results guys.........................

we had some overboosting problems (still need to be rectified)...................but the car made some good power regardless..................

So far 222kw at the wheels at 7000rpm with a 9psi spring in wastegate, however boost was creeping too 12psi and the gate was just starting to hold it and open and regulate the boost at 12psi.....................

yes i am tuning on a HUB dyno (which will and does read higher than a roller)

all the part throttle tuning has been done which is mainly the NA side of it, and also finished tuning the vtec NA side of things, now its chasing power and making it safe........

i hope to get my new wastegate springs tomorrow and maybe use a boost controller if need be and finish this tune once and for all..........................

i will keep u guys updated....................ohh no videos or pics yet, and im not enjoying it as i have been restricted to a 4300rpm rev limiter.....................lol

Thats awsome man. Yep, boost creep is a problem with these well flowing ramhorns and large-ish turbos, trying to maintain low boost. Priority is to the turbo and venting to the WG off at a right angle to maintian low boost is limited. I spoke to you tunner a while ago, but he did not belive me.

if u run a boost line from the top of the wastegate to a compressor and t in a boost guage in between, slowly press on the compress and when the wastgeat begins to open, ur boost level will display on ur boost guage

for the record, the car was in full street trim with half a tank of fuel..........the only thing i took out was my sub, however, my amp stayed in the car, spare wheel and everything else stayed in the car.........i stiffened the damper setting on my rear coilovers, 40psi tyres pressure in the rear tyres..................i ran 15psi on my toyo r888 205/50/15 semi slicks on the front and the time slip is below.........

unfortunatly ITR ratios and final drive are nice and high, rev faster, and i was crossing the line on the limiter in 4th gear, so next time i might try and source some taller semis or some full slicks................

and for the record, i can also confirm that ORC single plate is good for the street and some fun, but i did have some slipping issues once it got hot..............

i am thinking of doing a built motor, but at this stage finances are tight, i just finally finished the car and i drive it daily, so once i sort out finances with the new home im buying soon, then i will organise and engine stand and strap the bear block i have to it and start to slowly gather parts..............

yeh i was wrapped with this time considering first time out on this setup and not having correct size tyres.........i was hoping for low 13's lol

umm the car is on 7.5psi all day every day......nothing changed on the track except for damper setting on the coilovers and semi slicks........
