hi guys, was wondering what rpm would your auto euro hold its gear until it changes its rpm?? used to drive a 6 and it would change its gear at maybe 2000+ rpm ... for the euro it changes anywhere between 2500-3000 and i believe it might be the reason for my fuel economy which is like 10.5-11....
on the same route i used to get like 9-9.5 on my mazda 6...

It depends on how much throttle you apply. Use less throttle and it changes earlier.

Lowest rev it change gear is about 1.5to2K, but it all depends if the car is able to reach the minimum required speed to change up the gear and if the car is climbing a slope. U can test it out with the tiptronic or refer to ur owner's manual.

i use tiptronic everytime i get into the car.
and 5th gear at 60 is fine given its a flat road.

Question, if driving auto at the right speed with the right gear to keep the shift lock active in the transmission will save more petrol than just running at a higher gear without shift locking?

full throttle my mine use to shift at 5500... redline was 6500
so i guess it shifted when it was starting to lose power

i have a manual, and pop it into 5th if crusing at 60. Anything slower i put it into 4th.
