Hey How are you everyone,

Just wanted an opinion from people with experience,

What is the best head gasket for use in a 13:1 cr b18c,
COPPER OR MLS (MULTI LAYER STEEL)

Both head and block are 100%

Thanks guys

Your going to get lots of different opinions on this but personally I hate copper gaskets and would go the MLS every time. In a lot of cases OEM gaskets are the best. Copper gaskets are too hit and miss in terms of sealing for me. And I also like the head gasket to act like a fuse in case the engine detonates so a standard or MLS gasket is going to blow way before a copper gasket does (if the copper one does at all).

Cool, yeah i get wat u mean, but with the hit n miss scenario, But the head is a 100% fresh surface and is perfect and so is the block from the company i got it made, about the seal chech out these if you have not already, i found it pretty interesting. http://www.scegasketsonline.com/products/ics.html

OEM or cometic.

Unless you have a need to run any thicker then .030 use an oem, but seeing your a big bore you'll need a GE item, if not Cometic for thicker MLS, big bore gaskets, not many good reviews out of the SCE copper items and as Grumpy has said, can be hit and miss.

Cometic have a Phyzion gasket that uses a MLS gasket and expandable gas ring built into it, was and may still be F1 technology, but they are about 250-300 a pop and only available in a minimum thickness of .051.

SCE also do a gasket containing a similar set-up.

OEM if you can.

Get a Toda Head gasket. Used it with no issue at all.
