As title field states, my driver side door ain't shutting properly...the passenger side is fine, but then hardly ever gets used :o ...
the driver side door was fine when I first purchased the car in late March...but it appears the latch/lock mechanism has somehow moved or loosened, causing the door to not shut by approximately 2mm or so...you can push on the door from outside, and it moves in about that amount, but there is no perceptible movement on the passenger side. I have had a brief look and from what I can see, there isn't any adjustment for the latch or the little loopy catch in the door recess....anyone have experience with adj this?
ps I don't think it is the seals, as the door noticably sticks out by about 2mm as stipulated earlier....

I call the little loopy catch in the door recess the door srike, is the door stike loose, you can loosen it and adjust it to your preffered door position. make sure your door strike is adjusted correctly and tight, also lube your door lock.

ahh thats a good name..."door strike"...hmm I didn't think it would be adjustable looking at it. But I will do as you have suggested ECU-MAN, and I'll post the outcome...hopefully it fixes the problem  cheers

there are two screws holding it on whne you loosen them the doore tricke will flap allover the place. to be same only loosen thte screws to make it loose enough to move but tight enough to stay in place, know what I mean

There are also two little black rubber stops on the inside of the door. You can actually rotate them in or out. This could also be why it's not shutting properly. Try playing around with the stops and see if it makes a diff.

unfortunately, on the strike the top screw is so tight I nearly snapped the handle off my biggest Stanley Phillips head...even tried multi grips on the head of the screwdriver...what a bitch....the bottom one was tight but loosened without the effort required to nearly snap a friggin big screwdriver...any hints for tight screws other than drilling it out?

Chill G, when I say Impact driver I donr mean Impact Gun :), youll strip them poor mofos with a rattle Gun . a Impact driver is a tool you hit with a hammer and causes a twist on the tip,

yeah when all esle fails get the rattle gun, :) My rattle gun is my freind. anyway you can get cheap one for 30 buks or so, good for a few uses, or you can get a nice decent one for 120 plus tips at about 20 each, talking snap on. depends how often you use it.

try some lube ie WD40 and a big mother of a screw driver. let the WD40 get into the tread, hope that helps I have the same problem when I had to adjust mine!

oh yeah..it doesn't appear there are any bump stops to adjust on the door that I could see....were they on certain models only?

does it shut properly when u lift it up a bit?
if so
loosen the bolts (4) big ones that hold ur door
get someone to lift ur door and tighten them
