Hey guys, i got an EM1 with a b16a2 and want to change the whole exhaust system but wanna keep it JDM (but depends on whats available), So i was wondering is it possible to put the DC2R full exhaust system into an EM1??? or EK9? this includes headers 2

Im pretty sure the ek9 wont fit due to its a hatchback but doesn't hurt to ask cos anythin is possible.

Any information or any other suggestions are welcomed :D

Thanks guys!!!!

Hatch and coupe have the same wheel base, just from the wheels to the bumper is longer by 4 inches i think! The ek9 will fit if you lengthen the b pipe, between the muffler and the bend for the LCA clearence.

It should all fit im pretty sure, because the DC2R exhaust fits on the B series engines and your motor is a B series engine (B16A2) :):)

dc2r headers will fit, might need a slight adjustment to the b-pipe. The muffler also fits under the EM1.

ek9 parts will all fit but slight adjustment to b-pipe

hey thanks guys

yea a friend told me they fit but to get the jdm cos the audm require a bit of modification to fit, that is the exhaust system.

Anyone know the best place besides here to source this out?

thanks!

as above, b-pipe needs to be lengthend because the cat size is shorter on the ek9 but the itr one should be fine to use. i think there was a thread about this awhile ago ill see if i can dig it out.

so the itr bpipe would fit the em1?

Would the ek9 or itr b-pipe/exhaust muffler fit an ek1 too?

ek1 sedan & EM1 are pretty much identical chassis

it was your thread dy_ about the cats on the ej8 and em1 being different sizes which lead me to the thread below. Im pretty sure the ITR and EM1 cat sizes are the same when i was looking for one I was told that theyre interchangable, having said that i dont see why the b-bipe would need to be modified on an EM1 but it would be on any hatch.

umm it actually the ej8 cat that was the same size as most aftermarket[japanese] cats. the em1 however was abit longer in size.

hrmmm so the bends etc of the bpipe on itr is about the same?

looking at the thread creators post however im not sure whether he wants the jdm itr exhaust or the audm. if audm the cat should be the same size as his em1 cat

hey, i was told i need the jdm itr b pipe but apparently they are rare as cos my frind used to have a similar setup in his old EM1..

he had jdm dc2r header, exhaust, jdm itr b pipe and eg6 muffler.

So im lookin for a similar setup hey, prefer jdm stock parts as i dont want the loud vroooomm cos i like the sound of my vtec :D lol

okay its confirmed. B pipes are different, between dc2 em1 - itll need modification. headers cat and axel back will fit the EM1. not sure about the jdm itr one tho.

if you can source the audm ITR items at a good price it's very worth while esp if you value OE fit and finish and quietness.

I have the same setup on my B16A2 aust spec engine with ITR cams and puts out 107.7KW atw tuned by D/Dave. I have an aust spec dc2r 4-2-1 steel headers+2.25" oe cat and b pipe and a Lukey reverse flow 2.25" rear muffler round shape.

EK/EM some 50mm longer wheelbase than a dc2, so I would imagine some extension of the B pipe is nec. Any competent exhaust shop would be able to do that easily and cost of the 2.25" mild steel piping cheap as.

Greatest thing about the oe b pipe is the resonator near the end of the pipe, that disrupts the flow ( not restrict ) and thus eliminates most of the droning. In fact i was running the car for a few days without a rear muffler at all and it wasnt that noisy at all till I hammered it. You could use a straight thru glass packed Lukley or similar muffler and it'll still be quiet.

Ppl say the aust spec dc2r 4-2-1 headers are shit compared to the JDM 4-1 headers and while that is true, on the plus side it's easy to come by, much cheaper and works out better for a smaller B16 than the B18C7 that it came out of. The welding of the steel pipes of this oe headers is truing crap, almost hard to believe it's from honda in fact. You can improve by die grinding the dags off the pipes adj to the exhaust ports. Also there's a restricter pipe inside the main pipe near the o2 sensor hole. If you have a helpful exhaust shop they can do all this for you and chop out the restriction bit and weld in a bigger pipe and free up the flow. u will need jdm headers / 2.5"jdm cat / jdm bpipe(ek9 /dc2r same lenght ) or a aus dc2r b pipe lengthen by 10cm, u will need dc2r muffler it will be a inch or so short from your rear bumper but this is the best fitment and look for oem
oe u can use a eg9 muffer as it is the same size as dc2r but different in pipe diameter and tip
