6x9's in front doors?!

my mate has an EK and wants to put 6x9's in the front doors. hes pretty adamant about getting them in even if he has to chop shit. i told him get decent splits but he already bout the speakers.. anyone done this to there car?

You don't need to butcher anything, 6 upfront, 6x9 rear, one amp.

haha fully sic by 9's are crap. you need 12" or bigger. and at least 3ways up front if you cant afford splits. you can run all that off a $50 ebay 4ch amp

ask your friend WHY he got 6x9's for upfront. ask him what specific pros or cons there are compared to a well-installed decent pair of splits.

if he cant give any GOOD reason then just let him be.

all sorted, i installed his new SPLITS this afternoon. i showed him this thread and he just laughed at himself and it helped convince him he was being a knuckle head about the whole situation... cheers guys I knew i was right

yeah... all 6x9's do is rattle n sound like crap unless mounted in proper boxes... my doors r already startin 2 rattle like crazy n i got splits in them turned down 2 minimum bass.

you can fit them but you have to drill a holes on the door trim to attach speaker mounts onto:

problem is you have to have room to mount this so the centre aligns with the door trim hole so the magnet can 'sink in'
