Hi,
Just wondering how much extra flow does the fuel rail of a DC2R compare with a B16A and a D16Y4. Is it a lot different between the three??

the fule rails size and cc/minute flow rate etc arent so relevant to the engines flow of fuel - its the very injectors themselves which directly control it.
If you want more fuel into the mix get bigger injectors , and a ECU to control them/make them worthwhile.

b16 and b18 have same size inj

the d series rail and injectors are smaller and flow less than the b series

flow is regulated by the fuel pressure regulator. at the end of the day you can put a bigger rail but if fuel pressure and injector duty cycle stay the same there will be no advantage

Tanghy I assume you are correct but Honda say the injectors are two very different units.
My little question is will my B16A injectors feed a JDM B18cR ?
Im confused .. :o

Putting larger injectors/fuel rail won't do anything unless you have an ECU to alter the duty cycle!

would a Mugen 'race only ecu' qualify the necessity of larger injectors over the B16A ones ?
you need to use the injectors that are the size the ECU is tuned for if you wanna do it properly

how come no one has suggested getting bigger fuel pump?

You don't need a bigger fuel pump for N/A. The stock one will be able to cope with gay N/A power.

OK I will see how it goes and will keep you informed :)

stock one will cope with turbo as well.

what about a fuel pressure regulator ? Do u recommend an aftermarket one of those ?

I disagree ECU-MAN, a stock Fuel pump from an NA car is not sufficient after a turbo conversion. You will definitely need a bigger fuel pump if you are going to run bigger injectors and re-tuning your fuel map. the pressure and flow from the stock NA fuel pump is not sufficient, even if you add an adjustable fuel regulator.
The best way to check will be to connect a fuel pressure gauge to your fuel system when tuning your car on a dyno after a turbo conversion, you will see that the fuel pressure will drop as more fuel is being pumped into the engine , even with a regulator. the stock pump is not able to maintain an ideal/safe pressure level.
I know this from experience. ;)
i agree with ECU-MAN, cos i run a stock pump with boost and it copes fine

Iv seen Stock fuel pump handle 440cc injectors quite nicly, maybee with larger injectors, then yes, But I do know that the stock pump will do the job on certant turbo set-ups

Oh well, I must be wrong. :o I guess it depends on the type of car you have. Mine is a D16Y4.
Have you guys tried checking your fuel pressure during dyno runs?

i guess it depends on alot of factors when going NA or FI.
i just remembered that the ITR-turbo is stock apart from using methanol injection.
but my car had to get the fuel pump upgraded (mainly cause of carby to EFI upgrade)
no ones wrong!
