really depends on the design of the intake? basically a bent pipe with a filter on the end, i dont see why it wouldnt fit.

im just using these as an example,

eg:

ek:
http://i4.ebayimg.com/06/i/001/0a/32/b515_1.JPG

they look almost identical except for the 2 extra plugs.
does anyone know what the 2 extra plugs are for?
and if they are needed.

yes they are interchangable. Just block off the hole for the IAT which EK's have there.

Mine only has two holes, one is obviously for the map sensor and the other connects to your valve cover.

Id you dont need the extra hole it is very simple to block them with a rubber and a small clamp. Like i have done becaus i am now running boost :)

or if you have an ek wanting to use the eg one. drill a hole and put a gromit there so you can stick the IAT in.

sorry should of been more clearer,
im more concerned about fitting an eg sri into an ek.
so 2 of holes are for the breather tube and iat?
what about the 3rd one?
soz for so many questions,
im new to the car scene.

Theres no need for the third one, i got no idea why that one has three but mine only had two.....

what would be the consequences if i dont stick the iat in but leave it exposed in the engine bay?

and your car is a 99/00 ek model?

Mine is a 97 EK though you still have a B16A2 am i right?

it should be the same, i cant see it being any different.
And if you want, another alternative to using the extra hole for you valves is to just put a babi filter/rocker breather on the end. If you do that im sure the eg intake will work fine....

Oh right....
Looks like your going to need at least two hole then. Intakes arent too expensive any way.
You dont need a big brand name one they all do the same thing as long as its safe and there are no leaks its sweet.

You should be able to find one under $100 with a pod....

you'll get an error light on your cluster.
and it may not run as efficiently as its not able to sense the temperature of the air going in. something on the lines of that i think.
either way you need to connect it.
