They're ok for their price.

Although definately NOT a performance tyre (as they may be advertised).

Yeah my budget is only $500 and they come in at $520 installed

I don't care about sound as the 2.5" Muffler is loud as **** anyway lol

yeah ok for price... ok-ish dry grip but horrible wet grip...

if you really want 7 Day tyre in granville sells 205/40/17 for around $120 a corner $110 a corner if you get x4

your better off spending that money and quality 2nd hand tyres...

I've read up a bit and think I'm going with

Federals 205 40 17 $153 per wheel

Bit over budget but from what I've read a far better tyre

what do you guys think?

federals are ok tyre... ive had them
noisy as crap and they tend not to like any camber. the wear is crazy

in general no. go for sumitomo's or pref continental contact sports or the really expensive tyres such as Pzero, P7000 or the SO2 SO3's

I had Falken Ziex512's before (17s) and when new they were not bad in the dry but horrible in the wet - i felt there was little connection between the tyre and the road (aquaplaning a fair bit).

I looked into budgeted replacement and Nankangs NS-2 came in at $120 a tyre... and i must say for a cheap tyre im impressed. They grip well in the dry and i feel alot more confident in the wet as well. I did take them to a very wet track day a month ago and that wasn't bad either.

Nankangs are cheap tyres, there is better alternatives for the same price range.

if your budget is $150 i have the dunlop direzza at that price.
but if you spend more than $110(120 MAX) on nankangs your getting ripped off.

OK

What are the dunlop direzza like?

I got these tyres from Taleb a couple of months ago and they're fantastic. I came from Nankangs and the difference is like night and day. The dunlops have immensely more grip, are quieter and ride much better. I say go for it, great tyre and Taleb Tyres great to deal with.

I had a set of NS-2 in 18" and for what you pay they were great in the dry, i didn't find them noisy at all but in heavy rain doing over 100kms they were no good!!!!!!

lOl at nankangs if you wanna lose control in the wet i say go for these! i spun out in the wet when going around a corner (at an acceptable speed for corners) this was with apprx 60% tread, so they were still fairly new!

wasnt keen on the kuhmo ecsta either but i'd say they are a better tyre than the nankang
