i m just about ready to have my stock cd console replaced. i really have no idea how the hell you can get the stock cd player to come out. i called honda and they just said you can 'yank' it out from the inside.

i've tried sticking a knife between the edges on the cd panel to undo any locks and nothing is coming off. any ideas guys?

getting that bottom part out isnt difficult, you just have to wedge something in and pry it out. It will come out, but it needs some force. Same goes for pulling the whole cd unit out as there are so many of those metal clips. It will come out but with some force.

Pete :)

TypeG

that's what i been told but should be since the din size is standard anyway

dark138
28-11-2004, 01:44 AM
well i went to strathfield car radio in artamon.sydney
the guy was like

Him: "we have pockets for nissans and madza, but not sure about hondas"
Me: "Can't you just open one and see if it will fit into the console?"
Him: "its in a package"

so i didn't ask... so that pocket should be the same?

btw, i CAN"T get the stock one to come off, bloddy hell.
i followed the picutures to right where you take off the bottom of the console, the aircon switches. then it says to remove 2 screws somewhere up. have no idea where the screws are.
any ideas?

TypeG
28-11-2004, 10:59 AM
have u got the diagram?
if yes, it is really straight forward
for the screws, u need some TOOLS to help since it is locate very deep.
u can see it but u may not about to touch with with normal screw driver

Hi guys, not quite in your hemisphere, but this looks like the best tech resource site!

Spoon Fit - any chance of reposting your instructions, I spent a while tring to get the cassette/ radio off the car yesterday to add a cd changer, but I gave up! :honda:

Can somebody help please - the car is in a million bits (changer going in glove box) but the centre radio console is still there. Are there screws to come out somewhere that I cant see?

Thanks in anticipation

Thanks, I cant read Japanese, but that looks clear enough. I dont think I'll need to remove the HVAC cables though, as I just need to plug in the protocol adaptor into the head unit.
