K20 conversion (Engineer Certificate?)

Hey guys,

If doing a K20 conversion on EK and DC will the car needs to get a engineer certificate and how hard will it be and how much?

You'll need an engineer's certificate since your displacement is going up from 1800cc to 2000cc, engineering should be easy as if the conversion is done right.

Engineer will check mounts/cables/safety/legality etc. etc., will probably cost $1k or so.

u shouldnt need a eng cert for that...
just need to tell ur vicroads that u got a new motor...
although a cert may be needed for insurance purposes

how does that work ek has a 1.6 in it 1600cc + 15% = 1840 and the integra is a 1.8 so 1800cc + 15% = 2070 and a k20 is a 2.0L motor ??? can someone explain ????

Yes the k20 is a 2L motor.

Since it is 2L and the ek has a 1.6+15%=1840cc meaning that it excedes the capacity allowences. But the dc can have up to 2070cc which means the k20 is fine.
