So going on from a previous thread....

What colour leather have you seen (with your own eyes) on Australian Delivered FD2s?

I have only seen gray, and since 06 have personally only seen it as the only option in colour across the whole range of exterior colour combos.

I don't know about other markets...however only black leather I am certain about is the CSX.

Shimian is right...depending on the colour that the sports model came in there was 2 leather colours that came with it, but you did not have a choice it depended on the colour you bought the car in.

This does not seem to be the case anymore though. All FD2's come with dark grey leather now. But the 2006 models that were released before they did a slight facelift in 07 (like 17" rims etc), had 2 leather colours available.

I have a 2006 Silver FD2 and it came with light grey leather. When i did my test drive i drove a blueish silver model FD2 and that had the blue grey leather in it that Shimian is talking about.

All FD2's come with dark grey leather now.

Doesn't look dark to me... its almost really light dead corpse grey to me.... which is pretty much the only thing I don't like about the car that put me off... but its for the woman and she happy with the colour.

Thanks for all the input... still don't see anything about black cow though.... which is unfortuante cause I quite like the feel and colour of current CRV black leather.

I have a nagging suspicion that the leather in our FD2s isn't really leather but a composite. i.e. reconsistuted leather (leather fibres) combined with a synthetic material like PVC. It just doesn't feel like real leather should - feels like faux leather (PVC like).

The leather seats on more expensive cars (even the new Accord Euro) feels different.

hohoho... you should've read the small print on the car specs bro...

Quoted from Honda website: † Leather includes some PVC vinyl material

Yeah there is a PVC mixture in our FD2's leather, there is a disclaimer on the honda website that states that.

The accord's apparently have BMW leather - but don't quote me :D

Yes I read that but I thought it meant that certain sections of the seat e.g. the back were PVC but the parts where your bum sits on is actual leather.

nah i think its the whole thing, cos the texture is the same everywhere.

i think the pvc feels better then traditional leather anyways, its beautiful in the euro, more comforable then the cloth i find.

but i always hate that slipping feeling on leather

You are not fat enough.

Anyone know how much to get the aftermarket leather.I got VTI-L 07 - when I bought it the dealer asked for extra $2500 for the leather sport.

Thanks.

guys i think the seats are actually leather, the pvc bits are where the back of your legs hit and the door card trims etc. i think the leather itself is genuine, but shithouse leather. i was thinking of getting them redone, but then i realised nothing would go with the grey dash etc.... unless it was red, then i realised its only a civic so its 100% not worth it lol

no offence guys xx
