save ur dosh and put in a b18 instead prob work out the same cost as a d15 and turbo and will have the same power (prolly be quicker too as its na power band)

the amount ure spending you could drop in a b16a installed. or even buy a b18c cut and install your self. dont bother turbo this D series motor, just becomes waste

Dnt forgot u will also get teh DOHC vtec SCREAM. Mannn, nothing beats the feeling of hitting 5k, swapping over lobes, and watching the needle screeeeeeem to redline. Only women shift at 6800rpm.

DOHC VTEC makes petite girls wet. While turbos make the fatty's churn.
Petite > fatty.

a boosted DOHC makes no noise, it actually goes quieter than under vtec.
anyway, when you mean stock boost how much are you talking about cos they didn't come out with turbo.
Most likely you Greddy kit will have a 6psi actuator. So i'm assuming that will be your stock boost....
Anyway if you bolt on the kit without the ECU you will need to do that boost trick to the map sensor (never done it only know about it), otherwise when the stock ECU see boost it will crap itself.

not much more otherwise your engine will go by-by pretty quick without an ECU or tune

b18c2-$3500 fast and more reliable wat car is it goin into?

i'd boost anything if it was able to be done easily and cheap.
6PSI is fun in any car. Also a B15B i'm assuming it one of the older civics, so would be pretty light. Should be as quick as a dc2r with the right tuning

if you wanna run more boost, you can get a turbo bottom end rebuild kit (including vitara pistons for low comp high boost) from www.fjdistributors.com for around $350 shipped to australia. apparently many people on d series have seen 250-400whp with stock heads with this setup.

hence i was suggesting an fjdistributors bottom end rebuild kit. for $350 shipped, you get the vitara pistons, all required bearings, a 3 layer metal head gasket, water pump, etc. and all necessary gaskets from the sump to the rocker cover. then all you'd have to do is mill the head and maybe deck the block a bit, if you wanna be a perfectionist, bore out the block half a mil (75.5mm pistons dont actually cost any extra), and youd have a motor well equipped to handle boost (and probably for less than the price of a new stock motor).

ye severAMV on the right track,
BUT!
You well need a far better turbo and so on if you go down that road.
This in turn adds a lot more $$$ to the setup

some people dont like teh idea, as the sump and gbox hang alot lower than the d series.
when they are already only 7cm high as it is, you dont wanna risk the b series lol
im having this dilemma myself

ohh ok~never thought of it that way actually lol

i think fjdistributors also started selling turbos, if not, you can find a fair few bolt-on kits that will need minimal custom work to fit over to our local civics. plus, isnt the turbo that comes in the greddy kit capable of handling 1.3bar boost relatively lag free?
twin cam zc is an expensive engine, in that practically no one makes bolt on parts for it. single cam engines easier and much cheaper to play around with. i've seen metal head gaskets for a b cost more than the full bottom end rebuild kit for a d.
i guess you could say i recommend getting an fjdistributors bottom end kit for turboing. i generally dont see much point in forking out a crap load of money on just a turbo kit and making about the same amount of power you could get from an NA with less money.

I've had fjdistributors on my browser fav's for years now but never got round to buying anything yet lol
Guys in the US say the GReddy turbo can handle 1.5Bar fine

D16 engine, same geometry 75mm bore, 90mm stroke. DOHC cam head.
Late eighties, early nineties ish motor IIRC and thus pre VTEC.
Zero after market support.
IMHO, all D16s' are rpm bound due to the 90mm stroke, not valve area/lift bound.
ZC D16 gearboxes had the intermediate shaft and equal length axles.
About the only real plus over a late spec d16y, but that's what lsd's are for.

Might be worth while whacking that in?

also known as:
D16A8 (aussie CRX's and EG Si's)
D16A3 (earlier tegs)
D16A1 (us market)
D16A9 (euro market)
ZC DOHC (jdm market)
helps greatly when you're looking for aftermarket support around the globe. not the easiest to find, but not that bad if you know what you're looking for.
they also had more power and tq than any newer D i'm aware of. and my stock D16 CRX would trump a stock GSi every time.
check out CRXAus forums if you're after more info, seeing as though CRX's are probably the easiest/most abundant source in aus.
