If you are using street tyres, you need 40psi on track. The sidewall on a street tyre is too soft.

hey guys. When u guys are talking about what tyre pressure to pump ur tyres at, are u talking about it when the tyre is warm (after a drive) or cold ??? because i've always got confused weather when my tyre is warm or cold, what to put the pressure at, as the psi will be abit of depending on the tempreture of the tyres!

thanks aaronng

I was told to use 40psi on street tyres for track by the guys who run Queensland Raceway.

may be you are talking about warm.....I used to run 30 cold....so by the time it warms up...it will reach up to sth around 37-38.....

I say 40psi for all conditions. Under inflated tyres are worse than over inflated tyres. Better contact patch and less distortion/roll from a slightly over inflated tyre.

They're correct. The increase in tyre temp on a street tyre isn't enough to get a fluctuation of anymore than 2-3psi.

so what is still considered a "Street Tyre"
AD07, Direzza Z1, are these considered street tyres still?

I would still consider them street tyres. Although RE55s and the like are technically still street tyres and I would use them on the street if I had the cash to burn.

If you had money to burn I think you'd look better with a money hat guy. Although there's alot to be said for incesant tyre noise like that from RE55s. Hardcore!
