I got a system installed not too long ago though my antenna ALWAYS goes up. Im mainly listening to my ipod though it still goes up. Shouldn't it go up only when i listen to the radio?

put a on/off switch on the cable tha activiate the antenna... probably they wire the remote power to the antenna.

It depends on the head unit, generally Pioneer headunits have a single wire for both the antenna and amp trigger, which is a bit of an annoyance as the antenna will go up regardless of whatever you're listening to. It's easily solved though, as mentioned above a simple switch will fix the problem.
I've got the same problem with my headunit, I just split the trigger wire from the headunit. One goes straight to the amps, the other into a switch which then goes into the antenna.

You can just buy any switch from dick smith, Tandy, wherever, Ebay if you want some light up one or something.
and wire it in line with the power to the antenna.
