Hi, i drive an EG Vti, and my car is eating too much petrol, i can probably do 250KM full tank. Can anyone please help me out? What can be the problem? How can be fixed? Spending like $150 on petrol a week :(

tell us more about the car

k's on the engine
any mods
last serviced
anything you or anyone has touched under the hood recently
average distance of trip IE to work or around town , close or far

to begin , check your tyre pressure Make sure your tyres are inflated to the optimum PSI - look on the SIDEWALL of your tyres to see what the manufacturer recommends.

hey guys, sorry i'm not trying to hijack the thread, i'm gettin 360 from full tank in my b16 without hitting the vtec which is pretty lame.

I have a vafc which was tuned a while back when the car was owned by someone else, somebody suggested to me that i unplug it? how simple is 'unplugging' my vafc and would i be able to simply 'plug' it back in later or do i need to retune it if i want to plug it in again?

vafc just splices into ur ECU wires. have a look and u can see where it splices into. it also intercepts the wire for ur MAF sensor. pretty easy to take out, just pull the wires off where they are splicing and reconnect the disconnected one. simple.

This car sounds familiar.
If it's the one that Dupac is talking about, i think its the ECU.

I had fuel issues on my a recently purchased BB6.... The solution to my problem was a simple one... Fuel filter... gained an extra 100km per tank because of it...

My old fuel filter was real dirty as well..

yeah right man lol....

i agree with gaining more mileage.

i had 400-450km <-- stock no mods with shell v power + v pow racing.
and with bp and mobil i had about 600-700km <-- with minor mods like I/H/E.
and that was with constant highway/peak hr city driving every week.
even though i drive a euro.

I 'did' gain a slight advantage in regards to mileage with V-Power but not over a hundred kilometers...

Do a check on when was the car last serviced. Mods + bad tuning = fuel sucker.

Why would you wanna unplug it when u can just set the vafc back to the default settings?

hey could be fuel pump fuel feeder is ur gauge working properly?, could have a nasty leak somewhere , or running exremely rich mixtures which doesnt warrant that much usage , get it checked unless youve got someone syphoning in the middle of the night hehe, or are you just on vtec from start up?lol

cos then you could put it back if it wasn't the problem:thumbsup:
If you reset it you've wasted all that tuning money spent

another option is to switch between profiles. VAFC lets you have two tune settings. this is assuming both profiles havent been tuned...

haha i wish i was joking...because i wouldnt have been filling up with $1.80 v-power racing, rather than $1.60 ultimate. i wish i had learned earlier :(

I didn't know it was dirty... Someone on PreludePower suggested it and so I went to Honda and got an OEM fuel filter (They're only $20 more than the aftermarket ones you get from Supercheap)...

Turned out the filter was filthy as f*ck... So much black sh*t...
