Hey Everyone,

I Recently bought a 1988 Model Honda Crx, It has a ceased D16A8 in it...
Because i can :D I'm gonna get it fixed...

The thing is that i have another motor which is a D15B, that has nothing wrong with...

Can someone tell me which one would be worth doing????

Since i know only a little about the D Series...

JDM D15B > D16A8 > AUDM D15B

JDM D15B is the 3 stage SOHC vtec. AUDM D15B is just normal 1.5 SOHC EFI engine.
Which D15B you have?

Then stick with D16A8 then.
D16A8 = 93 kw
D15B = 74 kw.

I thought the D16A8 has 91kw with 122hp
and the...
D15B has 70kw with 90hp?

Yeah, go for D16A. You won't go wrong with it. You should prepare yourself with B-series mate. There's nothing much you can play with D16A unless you want to turbo it.

YES!!! K20 is the way to go! You'll be addicted to K when you try it. ;)

teaseR obviously knows his stuff K swaps are so hard to pull off...

the amount of problems i've heard about ppl shoehorning K20's into Civics and CRX's is immense.

BUT if you can get it right and have the time, patience and cash then more power to you and your all dominating CRX :D

k20 is gonna cost u like 15k at least.
so if u don't have that much money just get the d16a8 fixed or put another one in for now so its running.

your better of just going a B18 or B16 as they pretty much drop straight in (right?)

then for that extra goodness a quick spooling turbo to really blow your socks off (and the guy in the commodore you just demolished) :D

k20 is gonna cost u like 15k at least.
so if u don't have that much money just get the d16a8 fixed or put another one in for now so its running.
I can get a half cut k20 for like $7500, but then obviously i need to buy engine mounts to fit and bla bla bla..... =)
So like what problems will i have exactly...
I know it's not just gonna go in a fit like a glove =(
This is why i need help....

a question like that would be better suited to the technical forums

id also recommend doing a thorough search first, im sure this must have been covered before

ur gonna need alot of help...alot of money... alot of time aswell.. but u got the last part covered.. u got 6 yrs to do this :D..

engine mounts, wiring, harness blahblahblah more shyt then this too :D since u got a crx.. best to ask hassan since his got a crx k20.. he might be able to answer some of ur questions

yeah and i agree this particular thread on what you should do belongs in here,

advice on the complexities of a K swap and what your going to be needing, however, does not

you can always start another thread and still have this one as a general advice and feedback type thing
