Hey guys,

Some p plater backed into my car 2day at petrol station, i DEFINATELY wasnt at fault but im going to have to pay for the repairs because they wont own up that its their fault and trying to say its mine. I tried to get ct footage at the petrol station but the incident happened underneath the cameras so ive got nothing to help me unfortunately. It pisses me off so much that this p plater and his grandfather DEFINATELY know that they were in the wrong but because its only my word against theres they know they can get away without paying a cent. There car was a old valiant crysler which was build like a brick shit house and didnt have a mark on it besides my white paint. My car has got red paid marks on the bumper, the bonnet got pushed in and deeply scratched, all the clips on my bumper bar snapped off the top (not sure about the bottom), the clips on my gruppe m even snapped off (clips on the scuttle which sits on the window), behind the bumper my airconditioner cooler (whatever that unit is that sits infront of the radiator) is bent, I cant see my radiator but im sure hoping that that did get effected

Anyone know what that unit is called infront of the radiator (looks like a smaller radiator if that helps describe it) and u reckon it would b the same as the eu or dc5 ??

And the clips that sit on the bumper bar ?? would it be the same as a accord euro ?? or dc5 ??

Sorry to hear man.

Were'nt there any witnesses?

Radiator should is the same as a DC5......Ennavoli actually has one (EP3) forsale. Look him up!

Clips you can get from Honda. Should be same as other Hondas from its vintage.

All I can say is FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRK for ya! :(

PS...I hear that theres a really cool black one coming up forsale :p

sorry to hear man, especially on ur imported EP3.

that cooler can be an oil cooler for the tranny, or if its for the air con, it can be the condenser.

Dude, that really sucks. I agree you should take it up with insurance or police. And keep that red paint (presumably from their car) on your car in case you need some sort of proof. I hope you took some photos of their car and rego. Best of luck.

I hope your car is insured. its gonna take ages to get money back if they dunch wanna own up. Had a mate who's car was bang by a drunk driver, all that driver got was a fined from the court, no order was made to ask that driver to pay up. Till now, my mate hasn't got the money back

Why not go through insurance and let them handle this?
You do have full comp insurance right?

^^^^^^^^^exactly............the cops dont care..............only person that may help is insurance, thats what u pay them for...........

Wrong!

In this case, Steve should report it to the cops for two reasons;

1- If Steve had thought that the valiant or whatever hit him, they (other driver) has to exchange details for insurance purposes. Failing that, it is an offence not to do so and an infringement can be issued.

2- In short, the Police investigates that matter and if the other driver is found at fault, Steve would not have to pay insurance excess and have an "at fault" marked on his name..

As you can see, its quite important that it is reported to the Police.

......for Steve that is.

Goodluck mate!

should of called the cops and made them wait there till they came, plain and simple if he ran into your car while it was parked thats his fault, the police have enough common sense to make that judgement..... im sure the cops would have done something, after all it is a "traffic incident", then the other guy will be labelled at fault and then you can go from there. hope all goes well.

Isn't a petrol station non-RTA roads, just like a car park?

Therefore can't do much? Cops can't breath test you in a petrol station, because it's private property, and non-RTA roads.

Anyways... I say tell Insurance and Police, and let them sort it out for you.

Sorry to hear, and goodluck!

^ You got breath tested, targeted breath test - slightly different to an RBT.

RBT is random which is why it only happens on public rds.

ive called police (3 different officers) and told them the situation and they told me to write a letter of demand and get them to pay for the damages. They said reversing party is at fault because they should be looking where they are reversing.

Ive also speaken to a lawyer friend and she said pursue and if they still want to avoid then go to the local court and sue them. I sent the letter of demand 2day and now im playing the waiting game. Will keep you posted :)

shouldnt u be getting the driver's details before anything discussed? let the insurance deal with it man, no point arguing this kind of shit.
and yes i know how bad it feels, when my mini got hit by a EK9, they tried to charge me falsifying too. but screw that i was the first to report to the cops.

Off topic, but beat this.

A guy runs across the road with his partner (red light for him) - just turned green for me. I waited cause I saw him trying to hurry across, and ...

He slipped on cardboard and fell into my passengers door.

Anyhow, I won - happy days.
