Hey guys
trying to get my asr brace and itr sway on today, and realised i had no bushes for the bar int he combo that i bought off yonas
Does anyone know if the asr brace kit comes with metal bushes or do i need to find my own?
can i reuse the stock eg si bushes and if so how do i get them out of the stock bar without wrecking them
Cheers

the eg si stock bushing would be too small for the itr swaybar...
asr brace kit does not come with bushings
look for bushing in the marketplace, some of the traders sell them. just make sure you get the right size for your swaybar. and get some Dbrackets too if you dont have them...

yep u need ITR bushes and D brackets to fit the ITR swaybar and ASR brace
u can get the set off modproject
also u need to press the bushes out, where the end links are, from ur stock sway bar, and reuse them on the ITR swaybar, if u havent already got the bushes there
to do this first spray WD40 all over the bushes
then there is a metal ring type thing in the middle of the bush, push this out using a screw driver
then carefully pry out the bush using a flat head screw driver
and do the reverse to put into the ITR swaybar

yeah thanks czy_sol87 i meant the endlink bushes not the d bushes and brackets as i got them in the combo
but now i ran into another problem...... 1 of the asr brace holes doesnt line up with my subframe hole.... no matter how i try and if i make that 1 align everything else isnt aligned properly

which hole?
that doesnt sound right...all the holes should line up.
are you sure you got an asr for an eg?
take a picture if you can and post it up. or describe which hole you're talking about.

yeah i just checked the box and it says 92-95 civic 94-02 teg
the hole that doesnt line up is the3rd one on the subframe... the lower mounting hole for my original swaybar
i just found a spec tutorial to install and they say i have to drill out the threads on the original swaybar mounting holes:confused:
Heres the tut

Edit- btw my car is a 92 eg si

the holes should still line up.
you shouldnt need to drill any new holes
like the instruction says.
if your eg comes with a swaybar, then you'll need to thread the original mounting holes, but if the bolts fit through the holes already, then there's no need

those holes are for you to screw the D bracket onto man, your D bracket should line up with those holes and the very top ones.

first take off the lcas...then using a bolt and nut on each side bolt the asr brace on the sub frame with the rear reinforcements, bolts go thru the 2 bigger holes (ones on top of the ones marked in red) nuts will hole the whole thing in place, u'll know what i mean when u have a look at it
i also put the top bolts half way in so the rear braces(2 silver things in the above pic) didnt move round
then u can put the lcas back up using the 2 longer bolts in the asr brace kit
once thats done u can start putting on ur swaybar...take off the top bolt previously put in half way, these bolt goes into the top of the D bracket....the last 2 bolts should go into the bottom of the D bracket into the 2 holes marked in red in the above pic
last thing that needs to be done is bolting the endlinks to the lcas
check that ur brake lines are not in the way, mine were so i had to relocate them somewhere else...
then ur done, if that doesnt help u got something wrong with ur subframe, i doubt that though...this should help u do a full install of the asr brace and ITR swaybar

LOL
i feel like such an idiot
yeh i read the instructions properly and in my frustration at first didnt realise what the hell was going wrong
realsied the top two bolt into subframe and lower one bolts into dbracket and the brace itself
my bad guys!!
Thanks for the help though and the wd40 on the endlink bushes worked a treat sol
cheers for that mate
