Go live in Japan (Or England or anywhere else they sell them) for a year and then bring it back with you as a private import... or get a EP3R... but we all know they aren't as good looking :p

On a side note... the JDM DC5r isn't really worth all the "hassel". If you get a AUDM DC5R, put a full exhuast, decent intake and hondata you'll be making better figures then a JDM... then if you get some decent pads and braided lines... you have better braking... get some coilovers... you have better handling... only thing K20a has over K20a2 is the cams... but if your going to go to the extent of worrying about cams... the JDM one are tame compared to most aftermarket ones.

So really, in the long run, buying a AUDM and then modding it is going to be cheaper (and more exciting) then importing a JDM DC5R

Hope this helps out man.

Out of interest, how many JDM JC 5 doors are there in OZ? I'd guess a very small handful.

well my main thinking to importing dc5r to aus is coz it works out cheaper than buying 2nd hand from someone here...and the km's they'e done are so much lower...

There are a fair few low K AUDM DC5r's getting about on the market at the moment.

Also... just out of interest... how much can you get a JDM DC5R into the country for... since you have investigated it? Including EVERYTHING to get it on the road... and how long wait is there also?

i found one in championship white 2002 model with under 30,000km on the odo (it had a pic) with a few slight mods and no dints or scratches (from the pics) ... just the car + shipping to aus + insurance = $15,000ish...im not sure about compliance and all the other stuff coz this is first time...but that is quite cheap yes?

Oh wow I dont think anyone would of known I was a member here even though you just quoted me and I posted above you.

And when did I get a JDM DC5R?

Can you also answer the original question to what the difference to the JDM and AUDM is.

I have yet seen an answer yet.

Just ridiculous claims that make no sense.

I've been looking at importing a car for a while now and all the importers say that site is more expensive than the auctions so i wouldnt use that site as a source. Try japaneseusedcars.com, that site gives u an indication on how much cars go for over there (auction).
Its a no go for importing jdm dc5r =[
Why not go for Jdm civic type R!?!??!

well its a no go zone now for importing a type r becuz look at our exchange rate, last time i check 3 days ago our money to da jap's is $1au = 65c-jap, 3-4 months ago our money was double dat amount, $1au- $1.05c-jap shitttttt our parts are going to get very expensive, for our cars.
