did searches but nothing came up...
No one has an EK type R?
I thought some would have found their way into OZ.
Can they be brought in easily to OZ or just as personal imports?

Just as personal imports.
Search "EK9" of "EK CTR" next time.
There are a few dotted around, but they are very pricey when they come up for sale.
I think one sold for 25 / 27 K not to long ago..?
Correct me if i'm wrong.

May be a knob question but what does the CTR stand for? I would guess R refers to type R but the CT?
The prices are pretty much as I guessed...expensive for a civic but if that's what one's heart desires then who's to stop it...perhaps the bank!

buit as said, they can only be imported under personal import laws, you must own it for a year overseas to bring it in

i can only find 1 in carpoint.com, and thats got a K20A as well... but for 20odd grand you can build one for less then that.

eh it'd be quiet hard and still.. it just wouldnt be an ek9
a type r comes with recaro' sect dont forget
even if u picked up an ek for 8k.... 10k at least for k20 swap right??
that leaves you 2 k for recaro's, suspension, type r lips and spoilers....
not happening mang

dropping a b16 into an eg does not make it an eg6
just like building an ek9 does not make it an ek9

yes, you r right.... what i'm saying is it really hard to find a ek9, but to build 1you can pay less but got the same performance if not better.

im pretty sure you can with 20k.
build what ever you like, dont cloud your preference by what other people say.
saying that, if you do build a shitboxricedupcar then maybe you'll see some ppl giggling when they look at your car lol..
20k is a lot of money

Thanks mate...very helpful.
Hmmm, I have to rethink this. I'm actually in Japan and was thinking to buy a EK CTR to drive for the year and send to oz in a year's time. The problem being the Aussie dollar is so weak atm that I just wouldn't get my money back!
Perhaps a S2000 is a safer bet! I so much wanted a EK CTR though!

But EK9 would be so hot, genuine and re sale wouldn't be that bad.

u can make a standard ek cxi to be AN EXACT REP of an ek9
if u got the money u can, and why cant he make an ek into a ek9 rep???
