hey,

i was thinking of setting up a group buy for car parts and having the items sent from overseas to australia.

is there anything i need to do or pay in terms of customs, gst, duty?

the order most likely will be over $1,000AUD.

well, it depends what youre getting. if its big enough, it might need a container, and then that opens up an entire new can of worms

lol well i just got off the phone to DHL, and they informed me my turbo kit is waiting at sydney and i have to pay $560 or there abouts in customs tax because its over $1000. So im assuming if yours comes to over $1000 you will too. But if theres multiple people in the group buy, just split it? Unless they just see it all as different items, and its lower then $1000 EACH u might not have to pay

^^ Ouch, a big part of that $560 would consist of DHL's brokerage fees too.

honda accessories

not enough to fill a container...

but might be large in size.

i just dont want to order all this stuff and be charged fees.
and if customs ask me why i order so much of the same thing.

if its for sale.

You have to pay 10%custom duty plus 10%GST for anything or $1000

its more than 10% duty. i bought a motor ffrom the states the company will charge you 150 in fees to do the paper work for your goods. and you get done for duty 10% -15% then gst 10% and this is anything over $1000 and if its dirty car parts customs will charge you fees for quarrantine. and if its heaps of the same goods for resale they might be sum issuses there to. just ring a shipping company and find out
