Okay guys, so B series conversion is on the cards. BUT. Until then I want to get the car a bit more respectable. Currently, I've got it on some nice rota's and it's been dropped a bit with a lip. So I'm happy with the outside.

But the interior shits me off. Carpet is grey, inside is grey and the seats look homosexual.

What are peoples thoughts on doing the following mods to EG Hatch Interior:
- Upgrading to DC2 Recaro's + Low Rails? $1500
- Changing carpet to black (my carpet is stained so I need to change it)
- Nardi 350mm steering wheel

Is this too ricey and gay?

Considering I'm still rolling around in stock GLI engine (no exhaust) I don't know if the Recaros would be stupid. Outside I think looks good already, nice tint, lip and rims and slightly lowered. Just your typical JDM styled EG.

can you form your own opinion? if you like recaros, chuck em in, if you want a nardi steering wheel, chuck em in too,
if you wanna put decals all over the bloody thing, do them too,

as long as you like them!

shouldn't u be the 1 forming the opinion on what is ricey or not? u wanna put recaro's and change your carpet 2 black, and use a steering wheel that a majority of the top cars on here use, and your asking US if it's ricey

the cars registered to your name, not ozhonda.

Of course I can form an opinion but it never hurts to ask. If people never asked for others opinion, there'd be a lot more Honda people driving around in riced out shiboxes.

I'm thinking about stripping the carpet too. But right now, considering its still stock engine there's no point. Plus although JDMYwards EGK24A goes hard, the interior doesn't look too appealing (obviously being a race car).

I doubt I could sit in Yonas' car everyday, especially with anything under the hood to back it up.

Yonas sits in his car everyday i'm pretty sure and he manages just fine.

YEah if the new laws allowed me to get a mod plate i wouldn't have rear seats and their would be a cage in there

I'm on a fairly stock motor but never hurts to get all the suspension and stripping done in preparation for it :p

just do a black interior spray n dye the carpet black

Amanda

You could do:

Steering wheel
Shifter
Dash Light change
Cup Holders
Re-Trim door panels & carpet dye
Seats (new or just covers)

Id recommend a dash matt aswell, just for extra protection, but that would depend if you want that.

Subtle is best ;)

steering wheel
gear knob
seats
carpet

;1921256']x2

steering wheel
gear knob
seats
carpet

Yeah I think I'll do that. I'll probably do the following in order and see how it progresses:
Black carpet
350mm Nardi
Recaros
Then look into dieing it black with door trim changed

Yonas sits in his car everyday i'm pretty sure and he manages just fine.

Surely we can see a link between someone asking for Interior upgrades then recommending he strip everything out and sit in a cage? Especially when the engine is stock.

Yonas car is much different. It's an actual race car and the fact he uses it daily is great.

i disagree,

if people never asked for others opinions they'd make their own judgements more based more on what genuinely prefer,
'riced out shitboxes' is an opinionated definition.

imo.. this is what iv always wanted in my eg
very rough estimate of costing without installation

black sr3 recaro's 1400
ITR rear seats 250
black carpet 200
oem dc5 , dc2r carpets.. or whatever that fits 250
dc2r dashboard 500
dc2r steering wheel 400
dc2r center console 200
dc2r gear knob with red stictching shift boot 50
respray door trims and rear trims to black
retrim door to black or red suede

alot of hard work or money though...
dc2r dashboard and center console may be abit troublesome and costly sometimes
a cheaper option would be
respray original dash in black
eg6 sir cluster 200
jdm double din console 200

hope it helps :)

Would the ITR DC2 rear seats be a perfect fit in the EG sedan?

Alexx
10-10-2008, 09:00 PM
no, you need db8r rear seats (4 door integra type r)

there are some in the FS section at the moment

TONTON

DB8R's are a direct fit?

no gaps? or anything ?

To gear the best fit you need DB8 and DC2R seats..

Pretty sure you use the upper cushion of the DB8 and the lower cushion of the DC2R..

It's been covered on honda-tech.com with photos before, there were pics up. Try searching that site if you wanna find pics.

TONTON

Oh yeah i have pics, but it just looks like DC2R seats... like not sure if they are DB8R or the DC2R version...

Ahh what a hassle, so the DB8 bottoms dont fit? or is there just a gap?

Thanks. I think I'll go with shift boot, steering wheel and black carpet first. I'm hoping the black carpet doesnt look too weird with the grey dash and door trim.

I can't imagine its any different to black DC2R carpet I previously had?

I'm changing mine cos my grey is soiled badly, and I figure I should try black.

Can I ask you to, I know your civic is pimped out a bit. What steering wheels have you tried and which do you prefer? The Nardi ones JDMYard have look hot, but seem a tad plain to me. I wouldn't mind a leather one with more grooves etc and not plain round without any grooves at 3 and 9. If you get me :)
