Does anybody have any problems with the new JazzMY09?
I had mine for 1 month and driven it for 900km so far but can only get average 300km-350km per tank with my Auto Vti-S. I've already done the 1000km service and I've notified the service department and they've resetted something but I'm still only getting 200km for the first half tank.
The mechanic said that I should drive it abit more because new cars needs sometime to run in but 300km really doesn't sound right for a new car! Even my old 1990 Civic used to do 400-450 per tank!

It ranges from 7.3-8.6km/100L

Current and average consumptions displayed on the dash are actually not accurate. For a strange reason they show lower consumption than what my Jazz is using. So far 1.3 manual in mixed use ended up going 255kms with 19 litres (over 7 l/100kms), while the display showed 6.2 litres/100kms.

1st it depends on how and where your driving the car, also it could be the type of petrol your using (maybe; some of my friends and i myself seem to think that depending on brand: shell, caltex etc). And its been noted in a couple of tests (caradvice.com.au and wheels' review this month) that the car usually under estimates fuel efficiency by about 10%.

Also it seems like the fuel efficiency your recording is about right, Wheels got 6.1L/100km from the highway from melb to sydney, and during their city test they got 9.6L/100km from an Auto VTi. Thats 7.9 on avg in the real world.

I have only used premium petrol(Shell V Power and Caltex Vortex 98) since I have got my car a month ago.

I normally only drive my car from home to work which only takes 5-10 mins and the first 2 tanks lasted me about 150-170km per half tank. I drove from Brisbane to Gold Coast last night and it was 200km for half a tank.

it's true that new car requires some kms (mayber more than 5000km) to get optimum fuel consumption. Also, don't rely the fuel indicator. My civic, the fuel indicator drops slower on upper half than the bottom half. So half in the indicator doesn't mean half tank. It's just an indication :)
Try collect real world consumption:
Fill the tank till full, reset trip meter, drive around.. on the next fill up, note how many liter fuel you put in, and how many km in the trip meter. Say trip meter says 200km and you pump in 15 litres, this translate to 7.5 lt/100km.

FWIW, my trip meter has been 1.5% too kind (0.1 l/km) over my first 9000 km, as per the method in the last post.

Is the new fuel tank still 42 litres?

Yes, the new Jazz is still 42 litres tank.
I always reset the trip meter when I fill it right up.
I might try to finish the whole tank everytime before refilling to see if that makes a difference.
Thanks guys!

buddy just wait till its properly run in... it takes a while... prolly above 3000km, when it hits 5000 then that should be good...
ull start to see your fuel consumption dropping slowly as the engine wears in..

WHOAAH!! thats alot of fuel consumption!!

mine only 5.8 to 6.5 max :p muahuahua

manual

1 full tank of $50 bp ultimate.. last for at least 500 to 580 km till the warning is on :p
1700 on odo now.

i guess it depends how u drive? and fuel u use??

i fill up vortex 98 only get 480!! and warning is on. i think bp is best ;)

bp is the best, but it won't get any discount like other brand as shell, but it worth if it can get more km per tank.

Not sure on the MY09 but my '07 GD3 took about 10,000km to return the figures quoted by Honda. Around town it uses about 6.5-7.0L and on the highway it's about 5.4L per 100km.
