Hi, i've purchased a Pioneer DEH-2050MPG unit and two 6.5inch speakers came with it. I've also purchased two separate 6x9 speakers which are 600 watts each and want to install them on the back.
I want to know how to install those rear speakers as they are 600 watts each...

should be a simple 'remove trim & grills, unscrew stock speakers, screw in the new' job.
depends what size your stocks are too, may have to make spacers..

So the head unit would have the 6.5inch speakers connected and the 6x9inch speakers will run on the amp? Does the amp also connect to the head unit?

for a 1200 RMS PER CHANNEL 4channel one?? you'll be looking at least a few grand..
just curiously asking, why the the need for 1200 watt amp?

Well the speakers I bought are 600 watts each so I'd assume i'll be needing one that supports 1200?? Or am I wrong?

haha they will blow in a few seconds anyway...
look at the RMS not the watt it is a true indicator of how powerful the speakers are...

I don't think I want an amp, too much trouble. I just want 6x9 speakers that don't require an amp. Any ideas?

pop into jb or strathy. they'll have loads of them there. pioneer 6x9s have super tweeters and a woofer that deliver crystal clear bass right down to 20hz, or so they they.

Mate just looked at the speakers you bought, Just cut the original speaker wire and wire it direct to that. Check the positive and negative on a multi meter.
Those speakers will run straight of the deck, if you use an amp they will blow almost certainly when you turn it up for the first time.
The 600W is the pmpo value that means not very much. You need to see the RMS value, look at the back of the box you have.
most decks give out about aprox 25W RMS these days, and that should be plenty for these speakers.
They use the pmpo value as a marketing technique, and basically the 600W MAX power is just to make it look good, and seem uber powerful where in fact they arnt.( dont mean to burst your bubble)
Chances are in all honesty that these 6x9 arnt far off what your stock speakers produce.
Hope that helps mate.
