1988 integra questions

i got a 1988 integra with the fully sick pop up lights....and i have major problems with the trunk..like major rust problems and every trunk i see at the wreckers there rusted in the same spot bad and i was wondering if the ls trunk would fit on my integra and my right fender is dinted in and i was wondering if later model fenders can be used with my model

the trunk dimensions are completely different so thats a no no. i doubt fenders are compatible either...

IMO replace the trunk with a non rusty one and just respray it aventually

i live in brisbane there a good honda wreckers around hey near wynum i think it was its called boss wrecking so yeh but i just need that trunk cause fender isnt that badly damaged and maybe a new dash and cluster thats about it......hey do u know how to take the headunit off shogunovddrk cause its pretty complicated its like i gotta take my whole dash off

Do the fenders have rust?

If the 3G's and the 1G tegs are the sameish din holes then you just pull it out

You dont need to take the dash out to get the headunit out Man

Pull teh ashtray out from under it to get better traction i think

the fender doesnt have rust just to the boot aye the fender is just dinted in lets just say its not that bad

the thing is to pull the ash tray out its screwed on and ive tried so hard to unscrew it but it never comes out even a power drill doesnt make it come out...is there sumthing i could spray on that will loosen the screw
but ill check tomorrow if it has a bolt on the other side so yeh

if its not to bad just bog it up temporarily

Take a pic of the din slot for me and i should be able to tell you how to get it out

but for me

i had a near oem tape player and i could just pull it out the hole

well seriouisly cbf to bog it up lol.....but i was thinking of sanding the rust out
getting a metal plate and using this glue they use for metal to metal then spray anti rust then putty it sand it then paint it...

yeh but its somethin u need experience an$d something u need to know u cant just fix a little rust and go aw im a panel beater its like when people change the oil in there car they think they serviced there car....


there are a few around i think g2ic.com had one in the teg tips..

really u shouldnt bog over rust because itll just break off and out comes a lump of bog.. best way is to re weld a plate in there...

well i was at the wreckers and found a boot without rust =]] but its a rover 416i and people say its the same thing...does that mean i can use the trunk from that and the trunk doesnt have rust on it just a little ding but rather get that then huge massive rust?....but will it fit thats wat i want to know =S its the rover 416i same lights and shape but 4 door and the boot looks exactly like mine though the back shape of it...oh and like when i turn my motor on and i rev water spits out like huge amounts its like a sprinkler lol overexaggerate but yeh i know its water cause i touched and smelt it smells like nothing....and smell like its burning normal petrol....then i check my radiator and stuf its fine still full of coolant oils fine just changed oil and spakr plugs and yeh runs fine doesnt over heat at all i dunt get it people just tell me its condensation but thats alot of effen water -_-

I believe they (though its a 4 door) should be the same thing but better to be safe then sorry

Why not ask the wrecker if they can try it on your car?
