shifter and gear knob problem

ok so after a drive from chatswood to my house....abt 30 mins...i parked my car in my garage, den i go out, went in my house for 1-2 hrs, den when i got back on my car, the shifter and gearknob was warm/hot.....does anyone of u guys know whats the problem of it?

heat wrap your exhaust.. but thats a bit extreme.

get it checked. did you change your header, exhaust or cat?

oval high flow cat is prone to touch or get in the way of the linkages

i dun think theres any new headers,,,,cas i bought the car like this

but is the header/exhaust aftermarket or OEM?

also is yours a short shifter? or normal? cos my mates short shifter is rubbing against the cat. he ended up changing it back to normal.
