^ aka_NSX actually based in Sydney but he came up over the weekend to do if for me.
Hey yvho1, no you don't need to take the bumper off.
I've installed it on both an 07 and 08 VTI, there is enough room to get your hand/arm from the bottom.
I did however drill a separate hole to get the wiring from under the car and into the boot so that all the wiring is hidden.
hey howy, did u buy aftermarket sensor kit or a honda one? Can you please post / pm me detials please :) i was thinking of getting some sensors after tint & visors

Heya, i don't have the box and stuff with me but it was an aftermarket kit that I bought in china.
The brand was steelmate if i remember correctly.
4 sensors + wiring + a small lcd display + cradle for it so you can sit it on the dash.
I just found it way better than the oem honda one because you can position the lcd display to suit you and it displays which sensor is picking up an object.
saw a diy once in 8thcivic. same set of sensors with a small LCD display.

Hi all, bringing this topic back to life. I am considering putting up reverse sensors in the civic and wondering if it might be worthwhile (or even feasible) to DIY and save some money for the wheels and rims :p
Just googled up steelmate and saw some of their products.
PS: I live in Melb. Stocks should ideally be frm here. Last time this topic was covered was in 2005 and not sure if the info is still relevant. Anyway, i think a re-visit might be beneficial to all.

How much money are we talking about? I rang up a local Sydney dealer here and they quoted me $420 supplied only which I thought was a bit rich considering they cost around $100 from the suppliers. The value comes from the template themselves and not the sensor.

it is about there for MElb as well if not mistaken but i think the similar cost over here includes installation.
Anyway, if i can save 200bucks or 300bucks to do something fairly easy, i would.
Think a friend told me the same for a Mazda6's floor mat. They charge about $50 to "fit" the floor mats. hahahaa.. :D
