Honda Civic Type-R Championship White: Special Edition Model with LSD Debuts in Paris

The Civic Type R’s 200HP 2.0 litre i-VTEC engine is now mated with a Limited Slip Differential that promises to sharpen the car’s handling and driving dynamics. According to the company’s officials, the special edition Civic Type-R Championship White with the LSD managed to shave 1.44 seconds off the standard car’s time around Honda’s test track in Tsukaba, Japan.

As well as the distinctive white paint finish and the LSD, the special edition Civic Type R also sports 18-inch white alloy wheels, a contrasting smoke chrome finish on the badges, door handles, fuel lid and front grille along with an exclusive Type R plaque. Sales are expected to begin in Europe from the end of the year.

people are already starting to put lsd into the current FN2R, no big deal.
and that CW on the FN2R still doesn't make it look any good...

With the LSD it should outgun the DC5s around the track.;)

even without a LSD it could be faster than a DC5S/R...just depends on how good the driver is

same driver, 2 different cars I reckon a dc5 will be quicker

so many fanboys are thanking the Honda gods for finally releasing championship white... hehe.

but it's definitely a must have colour for the Type R range... it's like building a Ferrari without offering red. It's part of the Type R history and Honda's racing heritage.

and asif half of the ppl who bought a FN2R didn't secretly want Championship White :p

looks good. if we get the navigation system with it that would be sweet. and same price tag. and since mugen has a range for the 4 door fn2 in UK, wondering if they will add their touch to
this.\\

and stock for stock, same driver. i think this little car is actually faster than a dc5

white is hot. LSD is one step closer.

if they bring that version to Aus. and get it below 1300kg. i rkn it would go alright!

With the competitions from Golf VI GTI, upgraded WRX and the new Lancer Ralliart in 09, Honda Australia should bring this car in, btw, pics are up again....or the FD2R would be even better :) highly unlikely tho.. aiiiih....

i dont see projectors though, and the fact that i can see the headlight washer spray so clearly makes me cringe.

i rekon the car looks really odd. not liking it at all.

yeah the photographer obviously ****ed up all the photos, look at the red H emblem, it looks like pink instead.
if i were to get it, ill definitely have a classic milky white than CW, or maybe the EK9's yellow will do too.

Projectors are not a requirement of HIDs. THe older Lexus cars had HIDs but with reflector headlamps. The requirements are the headlight washer and an auto-levelling system.

Yeah below 1300kg, my ass lol... Don't forget, it beat its father by giving it the same engine but heavier with saturated fats and cheaper part alternatives... ;)

i wonder how honda managed to say that the fn2's 0-100 is the exact same time as the ep3. hows that work when the fn2's gross weight is heavier?

wtfhax

HID washers are ugly though.. although very useful when you want to spray your friend's face when you tell them to check out your HIDs

It doesn't work. But they still claim the same time. LOL

Apparently the i-VTEC on the FN2R rips a hole in the fabric of time, time is dilated allowing it to retain the same 0-100...

Doesn't the i-VTEC on the EP3R do the same thing, but actually goes back in time to get a quicker actual 0-100 time?

I tested it with my DMC, the EP3R is in fact faster than the claimed 0-100 time :O

i know, however i think it looks crap having HID's without projectors, looks about as cheap as the phillips blue globes on stock standard corollas.

wat 'claimed' time are you basing that on? the UK pre-fl time of 6.7? the JDM pre-fl of 6.4? or the JDM post-fl at 6.2?

lols soz... but seriously you should know better than to make an almost believable quote 'EP3R is in fact faster than the claimed 0-100 time' about the EP3R, wat with its small but almost fanatical following around here - sheesh ppl would prolly believe its as quick in the 0-100 sprint as a NSXR, which im pretty sure is around the 2.3 range, way quicker than a busa neway... ;)

guys, quickly on peoples posts earlier. Word from the managers at work are that the CW type Rs will be here around January and the LSD is limited edition (apparently) I did mention sat nav and he said honda australia havent said anythng about it? so whether we get it or not? who knows. the other thing he couldn't clarify was whether the price would be the same. hopefully it will do!

Well doesn't that sound promising for the already diluted and bland "Type-R" now they're going to spoil the Championship White along with it =|

I'm going to laugh if they do add LSD because it'll be a backflip... I thought Aussies don't require or don't drive hard enough to warrant the need for LSD...

LSD...

Good news :) hehe, better than nothing mate, it would even more better if Aus Honda could bring in some FD2R as limited edition, but oh well, day dreaming I guess.

Pricewise, they should make it the same, with competition from the new Golf VI GTi and Lancer Ralliart mmmmmmm......

Looking forward for a CW CTR here~~

What they should ask from the heads @ Honda UK is for an engine that is more powerful with added features like LSD, Brembo brakes, etc etc

Seren1ty
21-10-2008, 10:34 AM
^ Im sure they ask for everything and only get what their given by Honda Japan.

Correct me if Im wrong but I dont think Honda has ever released their most powerful motors for each model to anywhere except the JDM. Maybe Acura gets them in the states but we dont have a luxury Honda brand to have any need to bring them over here - again its a lack of interest from most ppl in Aus (shown by the interest levels in the current CTR, comparatively to the Golf etc) and our relatively small market and high regulations / taxes etc.
