Whenever I start the car, its all normal but after a while of driving, the symbol(yellow) next to the battery lights up. It looks like an engine but i'm not sure. Any ideas why the symbol lights up?!

the cars computer is telling you something is wrong.

Maybe the air sensor is dirty just take it out give it a clean.... or if you have installed a high flow cat that might be the problem aswell.

that means there's an engine malfunction

If you are indeed getting an engine light. Check under the top of the carpet in the passenger footwell. You'll be getting a CEL code from the ecu. A little red light will blink a certain number of times, then stop, and then start blinking again. The number of times the led blinks, corresponds to what's wrong with the car.

Once you have the number of flashes, do a quick search for CEL codes, and it will tell you what the engine light is for.

^^^ Correct

Turn the ignition on (but don't start the car) and go to the top of the passenger footwell. If you have the factory carpet then there should be a little velco-opening inspection flap just over it.

Number of flashes = code number
(although there are apparently some ECUs that use a single long flash to represent "10+" instead)

There are 17 codes for the 3rd gen:

Complete page from manual here (http://www.preludeaustralia.com/manuals/3rdGen/62sf100/6-136.pdf)

I have an intermittent CEL that I get for my speed sensor ... here is a quick vid with my phone cam to show you the carpet flap and flashing led in action (sorry for the low light levels it is kinda dark in the carpark at work).
