steps:
1 press and hold the tripmeter setting button on the dash
2 while still holding that button turn on ur parkers
3 after turning on ur parkers while stil holding that button, turn ur ignition to on(II)
4 after that while stil holding that button turn ur parkers off then on then off within 5seconds
then let go of the tripmeter button then press it 3 times within 5seconds

you could make a circuit that piggy backs off the parkers/trip meter/ignition.. and when you turn on the ignition it does the sequence of pushes electronically for you...

alot of effort for something no chic would notice lol

It's a diagnostic check. Also gives you error codes if the BUS has problems. Then you will wish you never did that check. (ignorance is bliss). hahaha
