Also to add - perhaps an easy method is to take it to any authorized garbage tip near your house - At the tip is always a oil-recycling centre , which you simply pour into a big vat and the council takes care of the rest !
Cost = 0 !
.....OR....you could just place it outside any petrol station in containers....really late at night :)

my old man pour it along the fence line at home to kill ther grass so he doesnt have to use the whipper snipper.

so when people change their oil at home..where do u guys dump it?
pour it back in the oil bottle and take it to recyclers????
I take it to the Service Station - they have a special bin for engine oil. (Well the workshop does)
