no, definately not worth it.
and i dont think you are allowed to put older motors into newer cars.
not worth it? why would that be though as the Eg Vti motors are an estimate of 100kw/atm + variable valve timing? where as the ek1 Non-vtec motors are less kw?
Its illegal to put an older motor in a newer car.
lol thats at the flywheel. and its more like 95 lol.
and i have owned both cars and i could swear ek gli is faster if thats what you want to know. i even raced my old eg vti with my old ek gli. and gli won.
thing is the amount of money your gonna spend, to a slow car (even honda wise its gonna be slow).
i would continue saving 3500 dollars and get a halfcut b18c2
reason why i did open up this topic is due to having a run about and fun car. its mainly for touge, where its mainly top end needed and the occasional track days. whats the non vtec ek1 motor produce kwatf?
as stated not allowed to do that conversion
old motor into a new body shape
if you want top end spend 2k on a b16a conversion
guys not right.
You CAN put an older engine in a newer chassis as long as it shares all current ADR and emissions requirements.
In this instance , it is NOT legal tho as the vti engine is OBD1 and the EK1 is OBD2.
oh ok , thanks for clearing.
i still stand. lame ass conversion lol.
the only people i could impress with my car vti were like highschool kids just in the vtec phase lol
just use the head :P lol
