2"1/4 exhaust question
Noobie question just want to see some
views. Own an ek4 vtir b16a thinking bout turboing the car for more power. Currently have a 2"1/4 inch catback system exhaust, is it too small and restricted and I need to upgrade it? Or cirtent setup would work fine?
Thanks guys.

2.5" or 3" would be good for turbo :>
-
Ah I see, guess there's no such thing as a quiet turbo car ay cop magnet :p
-
Depends on your setup. 2.5 will be fine for a low boost stock internal setup.
Also, turbo hondas are not loud. Turbo keeps the exhaust quite. Invest in a good muffler and resonator if needed.
-
Bigger exhaust will make the turbo spool quicker, that being said Im only running a 2.5" exhaust on my setup....
-
a 2.5inch exhaust on a turbosetup would most likely be more quiet then ur 2.1/4inch NA exhaust.
-
i ran a 2 1/4 setup on my first turbo, was fine and i made 160kwatw.
I'm only running 2 1/2 atm now and only making 163kw, so not much difference in the exhaust side.
on a b16, its still a very small motor if your on a budget stay with the 2 1/4 first and see how you do.

Kool thanks for the advice guys :)
-
I'm running 8psi through stock internals and running a 2.25 cat back, made 163kw atw. No need to upgrade your exhaust just yet, sure a bigger one will flow better, but it's not a pre-requisite

Kool man turbo makes a huge leap in Kw how about Torque? Boost much?
-
torque is even more so, why do you think boosted cars have traction problems?
-
So anyone know how much PSI is safe with 2.5"?
I'm thinking of going a low comp HG
