Hi guys wanted to get some opinions on best intake manifold for a h22 engine??
cl1 mani
they make adapter plates to mount k series manifolds onto a h. the plate will make the runners longer and thus lower the power but its only half an inch or so. is the engine stock? boltons and tuned, cams ect ? ? whats the best for one engine is rubbish for another....
longer runners move the powerband lower, shorter - higher. heres a quick idea.... http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/v...seRPMChart.jpg now runner diamiter and plennum volume a dictated by engine size and rpm. (the length also plays a role) you might want better low end, go for a longer runner, or you might be building a drag motor that only sees 3k rpm once a race. go for a shorter one. do research into what k manifolds make good power on h22's. try and look for dyno comparisons and not just peak hp numbers, then you can see where the gains really are in the midrange.
the k series manifolds seem to be quite well designed. if you port it or get it done, the runner length can be changed at the bellmouth to accommodate the additional length gained with the plate.
Dont waste your time with a K series manifold on a H series. They flow too much air for the engine to handle.
Best OEM manifold as said is the CL1 Euro R manifold
The flow rate of the the RBC manifold VS the flow rate of a H22A
The RBC flows more air than the H22A which means the intake manifold is over powering the engine.
Each component of an engine is designed to work in conjunction with every other part. Get one part wrong and you won't make proper power
currently the engine is standard but plan to do more work to it but keeping it n/a
The k series manifolds are not worth it on a H series.
If you cannot understand that, why waste peoples valuable time asking questions you do not understand
