where the oem rear speaker are? I presume you're talking about the eg hatch? i have replaced the original rears with 5" coax, you're going to be really hard pressed to get anything bigger in the factory mount.
Yeah they come stock with speakers in them in Japan.
mine didn't..
or atleast they're covered with plastic bits
?? my eg gli had rear speakers when i got it, they looked very oem.
mine's a breeze....
no rear speakers, atleast i dont thinkso...
has anyone removed those panels for a breeze?
is it easy to do?
you wouldn't get a good sound. The plastic panels you speak of seem to be to unsturdy and would vibrate. Try and source some factory pieces from a jap eg.
is this the panel you're talking about?

if it is then it's super easy to get in there and see if you have atleast the speaker mount. First fold down the rear seat.

Next put a knife (preferably blunt, or something similar) in between the panels at the back of the panel you want to remove and lever it up.

now that the back part is up, you should be able to grab it and pull it gently, there are a few clips that hold it in, but the panel comes out without any effort.

This is the oem mount for the eg hatch. I have a 5" coax in there and as you can see you're not going to get much bigger in there.

once to this stage you simply need to unscrew all the screws holding the speaker mount, you should be able to menouver it out then.
I have gone to a bit of trouble to get the speakers in properly, sound deadeding and deflex pads behind the speakers. In all honesty it was probably time wasted to some extent. Short of making new mdf mounts there isn't much more i can do; the speaker positions really aren't ideal. The rears offer little benefit imho. You'd be much better off concentrating your efforts on your front speakers, imho.
if you don't have the mounts in the oem location i'd imagine you could get them from a wrecker off a non-breeze eg hatch.
thanks heaps for that mate..
there's probably no mounts in there is i dont think there's speakers back there..
i'll have to open it up and see...
maybe make some mdf mounts or something
wats the maximum size u reckon i could fit in there?
