VTEC defintely (yahhhh!!) kicks in with no detectable smoke of any sort. I used to be a V8 man, but these things are certainly a heap of fun.
This one has a "cold" air intake (the only modification), however the filter is in the same position as the original - so to my mind the word "cold" is incorrect. I can see it will suck air more effectively but only from the warm engine bay. Do other so called "cold" air intakes funnel air more directly from outside the car (my motorbike does this - "RAM air" I think they call it).
The car's done 165,000km, from what I've read on this forum the H22a is likely to last at least another 100,000km. We have looked at a few VTi-Rs with well in excess of 200,000km, so out of interest, what sort of money are we looking at to reco an H22a?
