the type r has a diff bumper to the ek4, it has no mouldings
it also comes with a lip, they are two pieces

ohh.. so if i decided i want the ek9 lip, i would have to change my whole back bumper to the ek9 one as the lip does not fit on the ek4 rear bumper??
The lip does fit EK4 bumper.
you can buy rear lip from jdm yard. trader on here.
and you can buy rear aftermarket bumper for 99 civic.
you can also go ahead and buy a civic type R rear bar, genuine second hand and it usually comes with the lip. for about 350 dollars all up for this one. they work out the same in price usually
yea Honda has new bumpers for a good price in ur colour, call up ur local dealer :D

well to give you an idea i bought a rear bar for an em1 back in 07 for about $320 unpainted
so only really about double the price of those aftermarket bars
bout double but for the hatch its 255 pretax un painted at the dealer
coupes are more obviously at over 500 pretax un painted
