hello my fellow hondowians!!
i keep reading about people wanting to put these monster tachos (with shift light) on the car so they know when to change gears.
why dont u try listening to the car it tells you when to change.
wouldnt you agree??

unless ur car doesnt come with a stock tacho or your car is tuned to rev beyond the stock tacho reading...i dont see the point in them!
i do have a stand-alone pivot shift light though....its not always easy to listen to the engine when ur concentrating on the road ahead!
ya...u can do dat 2 :)
This thread has a point?
if u have the stero up u can hardly hear the engine :P... just fancy stuff for your car, unless you really need it for obvious reasons.

Rev limiter?
As in, you know you've hit redline when the engine chokes on the limiter.
Weird, but I always know what my car is doing, it's called peripheral vision :P
or you just know your car really well pete
Even with the stereo loud I reckon it's easy to tell when to change gears. Plus the red line like sticks out like a sore thumb - I don't see the point in 'em.
If you have a loud enough stereo you probably won't hear your engine.
But i'd value a dual stage shift light over a BIG tacho. Say you're on the track and constantly above 5000 RPM, to tell when to shift up a gear you'd have to keep glancing down at the tacho.........not something you'd like to do at 150km/h +
Yer a shift light would come in very handy. Usually i can tell that a car needs to change gears by the power curve/sound of the engine, but the civic brakes all the rules i tell ya.. Oh yer for this reason, i hit fuel cut for the first/only time while draggin with stereo up :)
