hey guys today i was pumping the music in my car and suddenly the sub stopped working... then it keeps going DOM DOM DOM even when no music is playing ?
any ideas how to fix this ?
i check the ground cable, so i changed it from the amp.. didnt fix it ?
check the amp fuse which was blown and i changed it still not fixed ?
any help would be appreciated
the DOM DOM DOM is repetitive and is quite annoying
what headunit do you have?
check all your RCAs make sure they are connected stil
yeah there still connected...
but the black cord or neutral was loose plugged it back in
still fluttering abit but its less now...
tyhe black cord? as in your ground?
Check all of your wiring, if it was making noise/bass its got to be getting it from somewhere. If you can't figure it out I would re-wire all of it step by step, and see how it goes. it could be getting interference from some where. The only way I see a sub making noise randomly is through interference.
there are many problems that can occure, does the sub still actually work?
it can also be the blown sub, did you smeel anything burning?
it could be the fuse in the amp, wiring, ground wiring, head unit, etc
best thing to do is to re-check the whole wiring system if you have spare time.
might be the rca output on the headunit
try using the sub/amp on a different car
i had this trouble before
apparently some headunits have rca fuse
mine didnt
but it was under warranty so i got a new one
and after no trouble
yeah i do notice a smell of burning sometimes
the sub still works and the amp...cause i tried the sub in my mates car worked normally
and the amp is working normally...
the sub still works now but when no music is playing it makes that sound
i came to the conclusion it was the head unit
will check it out tomorow and see how everything turns out ...

it happens to me too, found out one of the rca cable is broken loose, check your rca's cable make sure no insulation broken, hope this will help,
definately cable issue...check your ground at the back...and then check the wires that go to your sub
seriously... this sub pissed me off so much i gave up
i lowered the bass on the amp
it stopped the dom dom dom
which is my solution for now.. lols seriously got no time for this and uni

bass is heaps low... which is LAME hahaha
