Vtec! Help please!

hey guys, vtec is not working at 6-8rpm

i know this topic has been covered alot...BUT! ive been through them and done the recommend inspections.

i drive a vti-r...
its so weird i hear the vtec at around 4500 to about 5500 starting to rarrw then at 6000 to 8000rpm its flat...
im pretty sure there is loss power somewhere...

ive got a honda specialist to check it..
he checked the solanoid and oil pressure and did some computer test...
ive alot just service my car and changed the oil and so on.

does anyone have any opinion on what this might be?

At 5800 the secondary butterfies should open the shorter inlet tract, but it sounds like this possibly isn't happening. Who was the Honda specialist?

if there is not a great loss of power but the motor just doesnt sound right or seems minutely down on power,then what u describe seems to coincide with the IAB's not opening up.

remember IAB's open at 5750rpm & they make the most notable noise change on a stock VTiR motor,even more noticeable than vtec.

sounds like vtec is still working,get him to check the IAB's.
