B18CR revs fluctuating
hi guys/girls
ive just got a b18cr in my ek, the revs dont seem to stay when i start the car some mornings, i have to hold the revs and if i do stall the car it would strugle to start. Once started again there is alot of smoke that comes out. Once the car is warm and driving the revs do fluctuate when i come to a stop.
Not to sure where to start fix this problem. has anyone had similar problems?
thanks

iacv is a common issue for hondas.
it will usually affect the way the car idles.
this is the diy thread on how to clean it out by ben.
give it a go i recon and then see if the problem still occurs.

Either clean and check the operation of teh IVAC or get another one. It cant be a vaccum leak cause he can't get it to idle in the morning where as a vaccum leak will make it idle higher then normal.

If you have a mate with a ek4 or another dc2r (that is known to work 100% fine) ,you can swap over the entire throttle body or ICAV to isolate the issue.

iacv dude, ive had many issues with mine. It plays up for me every 10 months or so. Theres a thread in there that comes loose from time to time and it does the same thing for me. Randomly some mornings the idle will run high. I think check that first.

just unscrew the bolts, and spray some carby cleaner.
