as far as i know its about the intake position
a cold air intake's intake point is low as opposed to a short rams higher intake point
intake arm + filter would have more cold air running through. you should get a panel filter
i mean just a pod filter using the standard intake arm opposed to a aftermarket intake arm + filter.
not much man its still sucking up hot air there wont b any noticible power imo get a k&n panel filter or better yet get a cai
TECHNICALLY the bigger smoother pipe will flow better. for ek/ej the pipe is pretty small compared to most aftermarket intake arms around.
however most of the losses in the intake system come from the changes in size and bends in the intake system. which includes the resonators it goes through, the airbox, and that u-shaped pipe. yes you can remove all this restriction...and you will feel it, but it wont be much at all. esp since your still sucking in hot air.

panel filter wont do shit except save you money at service cause its washable

Thats true. What i did for my prelude is remove the resonator first of all. With the stock panel, it felt a tiny bit better. But when i put a K&n panel in, the sound changed dramatically and is similar to a pod filter. There is a slight improvement in power and response.Quote:

^^i thought suckin in hot air u get better fuel economy? so wouldnt a pod suckin in hot air have better fuel economy but you lose power..obviously. can someone tell me whether this is wrong or not?
