Removing flywheel
Today I've finally started working on doing my clutch/flywheel and ISB replacement.
I've got the gearbox off, and also the clutch+cover, but am struglling to get the flywheel off! I can't keep it from moving while I take the bolts out!
Tried jamming a screwdriver in the gears.. but still having trouble.
anyone have any good tips?
Also for removing the snap ring inside the gearbox to open up the box, it seems to be like a bitch to do. (I took all the bolts out so thats the only thing left to do to open up the box). Any tips for that!?
It's my first time ever doing anything like this so any tips will be great!
(been taking photos so might write up a DIY if it turns out to be successful!)

hay dude
to get the flywheel bolts off use an air gun eg. rattle gun, if you dont have one or cant get one then you have to stop the crank from turning with out doing any dammage, then use a big bar on your ratchet to get some leverage on em.
with the snap ring use circlip pliers, that should do it.

flywheel - have u tried holding the crank pully bolt?? otherwise i did it with a nice breaker and a pry bar/chisel wedged in between the teeth and a casting on the case. it was very hard to get a good wegde point, and there were only 2 such points which gave enough leaverage.

please put some lock tight on the bolts when u put the flywheel back on. ive seen what happens if those things come undone at high rpms. it becomes a circular saw

not good when you go out the night before... hungover and working on your car :p
is it necessary to put locktight on the bolts for the flywheel?
manual doesn't tell me anything except to torque them at the correct specs.

no if you tighten it to spec you dont need lock tight.

changing the ISB wasn't as hard as I expected..
(though I'm not 100% sure if its gonna work :o )
just have to put the box back on and put everything back together :D
